Marketing & Blogger Extraordinaire
We need a kick-ass writer who is so good they can make any topic dance. Marketing and Blogger Extraordinaire means you have a voice and are not afraid to use it.
In this role (internship or full-time) you interview executives and entrepreneurs who will share their successes and failures. Your job is to get that message out to the world through blogging, tweeting, online advertising, chatting up bloggers and journalists worldwide, or whatever other creative means of disseminating information we or you dream up. Ultimately your words are going to help us increase revenue for our portfolio companies, no matter what project we throw at you.
A few other items on our wish list…
-You should know what the word SEO means and be ready to use it.
-Technology is our friend. From producing Google Adwords campaigns and analyzing campaign results to creating newsletters to making content updates on websites, you are adept with technology. And if you don’t know something you will figure it out or find the right people to ask (we like entrepreneurial spirit and chutzpah).
-You are willing to take on any other projects you can imagine coming up at startups. Put another way: we all take out the garbage here (that’s not a metaphor, we really empty trash from the office).
The thing is, if you love marketing and really love writing, you will thrive here like nowhere else. You do have to put up with a leafy, idyllic office in the ‘burbs, but unlike cubicle dwellers you can get your nature fix right outside our windows, hear the birds chirp, and enjoy lunch in our company cafeteria (Whole Foods down the block).

Sometimes you run across someone who is socially adept. The life of the party. The host extraordinaire. Verbal, articulate, energized and energizing while genuinely engaging and making connections with people from all walks of life (genuine: not a bullshitter).
Are you that person? Yes? Then you could be our rainmaker and help us with business development.
At RedFlash that means working in many areas of our portfolio companies and if you are really that person you’ll like variety. At the Association of Interim Executives our mission is to tell the world about this new specialty of interim management (where execs jump into companies to make rapid change and improvement). So you will be making relationships to help us get there. It’s about seeking out top interim executives around the world for membership, schmoozing with private equity funds, nailing down sponsors, and forming partnerships with organizations that will help us grow. To be successful at this you are scrappy. You break down walls with ease and have a go-getter spirit to get it done.
Entrepreneurship is the other side of the coin. We wrote a book called How They Did It (interviews with $100M+ founders). Reaching out to companies that want to inspire employees and buy HTDI in bulk – that would also be you. Most importantly we work with entrepreneurs to hit home runs (launch, grow sell), and you will help source and win new clients while helping existing clients with their transactions. It’s all about connecting, engaging, persuading, negotiating.
The really great person at this is not only a great door opener, they are also a good closer. Actually we hate the word closing, but you get the point – a successful rainmaker can stick with it from beginning to end to make sure the transaction’s done and done right.
